  • Introduction: There are a lot of myths about secondary schools in Hong Kong. The best secondary schools (Band 1 schools) have the oldest history and are located in the richest districts. People also observe that schools with a particular religious background are very prominent in Hong Kong. Are all these true? We collected data showing all secondary schools in Hong Kong and present to you a comprehensive analysis to solve your questions.

  • Introduction: Our project is about the craft beer market in Hong Kong. After analyzing and visualizing the data from a local craft beer vendor, Lop Leaf, we will provide you the local consumers' consumption pattern and the craft beer market information from the experienced operators. We hope you will have a general understanding of this market and the craft beer brands/products through our project.

  • Topic:Bicycle track of Hong Kong
  • Introduction: Across the globe, cities like New York, London and Taipei have developed bike-friendly policies and introduced bike-sharing systems to encourage the usage of cycling as an alternative eco-friendly mode of transportation. In Hong Kong, cycling has been perceived as a weekend entertainment more than as a mean of transportation. This project discusses how far Hong Kong has gone to promote cycling, whether and how betterment could be achieved.

  • Topic:Li's Force Field
  • Introduction: As there has been a lot of suspicions that the rich and powerful in Hong Kong controlled the time that typhoons were hoisted to avoid loss in the stock market, despite the heavy rainstorms. This project is to discuss whether there is an effect of Li’s field in Hong Kong and what prerequisites HKO they pick to determine the level of typhoon signal by using typhoon Prapiroon as a chief example.

  • Introduction: In Hong Kong, the air quality is not satisfactory, in which roadside air quality is even worse. Hong Kong roadside air quality levels is still twice that of WHO’s upper limitation. Public transportation has become a major source of air pollution. This project shows roadside air quality and its determinants in Hong Kong

  • Introduction: North Korea stay mysterious to the world. It is hard for tourist entering without joining escorted tour. Some people may think that travelling to North Korea is an indirect way to support the DPRK regime, thus refuse to go there. The website is going to explain the misunderstanding of travelling to North Korea, and give you a brief idea of visiting DPRK.

Prof. Ho Lok Sang - Chu Hai College of Higher Education

Prof. Ho Lok Sang received his Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong, and went on to earn his Master degree and PhD in Economics at the University of Toronto, Canada. Prof. Ho Lok Sang is dean of business at Chu Hai College of Higher Education. He has published about 100 papers in academic journals and books.

Jeff Boda - International New York Times / Hop Leaf

Jeff Boda, born in Wisconsin in the United States, is a full-time journalist with the International New York Times here in Hong Kong, and also the founder, CEO and "chief beer evangelist" of the craft beer importer Hop Leaf, which supplies boutique brews from countries such as Denmark, the US and Japan to private customers and more than 30 bars and restaurants around the city.

Rubio Chan - GloTravel / Eastern Vision

Yue Qiu - Bloomberg

Yue Qiu is the team leader for Bloomberg Graphics' Asia and Europe team. She graduated from Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and Columbia School of International and Public Affairs with a dual degree in journalism and international relations. Before joining Bloomberg, she developed interactive data visualizations and news applications for investigative newsrooms ProPublica and CPI in the U.S.

Alex Koo - HK01

Alex Koo - HK01

Mr Alex Z.X. Koo is the Managing Editor (data journalism) of HK01, the founder of the commentary site Pentoy, and a part-time lecturer at Hong Kong Baptist University. Prior to that, he was an investigative reporter working in Cable TV and Mingpao, and was the head of the instant news team/ online video news team at Mingpao Daily News. He received a BA (Hons) in Communication from Hong Kong Baptist University, and a MA in Political Philosophy from the University of York.

Robin Ewing, from Texas, is a senior lecturer in the journalism department at Hong Kong Baptist University, where she teaches newswriting and multiplatform journalism.
